Using our talents within a Christian community is an important part of our walk. We have lots of places for you to engage—both inside and outside the church. We have four ministry groups, which consist of related ministries. Each is led by one or more ministry group leaders with one of our elders assigned as liaison to the group. Pick a ministry group that sounds like you and contact the leaders. He or she will work with you to frame an opportunity that uses your talents and your availability.

Are you a student of the word-and willing to share your knowledge? Our adult classes rotate on a quarterly basis and we look for teachers willing to teach a quarter every year or two. Are you a singer or reader? Our worship team needs your talents. Perhaps you prefer to be behind the scenes. Some of our most important work happens there—like preparing communion, managing our sound systems and maintaining our networks. Janet Bowers and Scott Brunner lead this ministry group. Robert Younger is our liaison elder. You can reach them at

Do you have a heart for missions? Maybe join a mission team—or just write to our missionaries to encourage them. How about feeding the homeless one Saturday a month? Or collecting coats for them in the fall? Are you an encourager and want to make the body feel more connected? Our communication and fellowship team needs you. How about graphic design or website management? We want Christ’s light to shine through all our communications. Robert Burgess leads this ministry group. Dennis Hlasta is the liaison elder. You can reach them at

Good with a paint brush or a shovel? Maybe you have time to change lightbulbs or setup chairs and tables. Our meetinghouse is always in need of a little love. If you are a contract manager, we can use that skill too—as we engage contractors to perform tasks our volunteers can’t complete. Perhaps you are better at spreadsheets than screwdrivers—we have a dedicated finance team that helps properly steward congregational resources. Rafael Barillas leads this ministry group assisted by our treasurer, Karen Brunner. Lloyd Randolph is the liaison elder. You can reach them at

We have a wonderful and dedicated staff—but they need your help to make their ministries successful. Do you have a heart for children? Linda Hlasta, our children’s minister, needs you. Could you fill in when our office administrator is sick or needs a vacation? Do you have a heart for preaching? Could you fill in for Chess or Oscar when they are sick or on vacation? Do you have the training and availability to provide legal advice or assist in congregational security? This ministry group needs those talents as well. Stuart Platt is the liaison elder overseeing our staff and their work. You can reach this team at
