Jesus enters the waters not to stand apart, but to share fully in the life of those he has come to gather. In baptism, Christ meets humanity where it already is, and in doing so opens the waters as a place of belonging rather than separation. The light that gathers draws us into Christ’s own life, joining us to him and to one another in a shared story of grace.
