The God Who Raises, the Christ Who Ransoms

Psalm 113 lifts our eyes to the God who stoops low, raising the poor from the dust. 1 Timothy insists Christ gave himself as a ransom for all, even those in power for whom we are called to pray. Together, the psalm’s vision of God’s upending power and Paul’s insistence on Christ’s universal gift of grace stretch us toward a community where intercession and exaltation meet.
